Sixth graders started a new machine learning project called Chameleon from the Machine Learning for Kids website. In this project, students will make a chameleon that changes color to match its background. Students will first train the computer to recognize three colors: red, blue and green. Students used computer class to provide the computer at least ten photo examples of each color from the web. The computer will learn from patterns in the colors from each photo the student has given it. After students have provided enough samples, they will start to train the computer and test. Students will continue working on this project next week. A sixth grader collecting samples of photos for the colors red, green and blue.
